Our men's 1 team had to play away twice last weekend. First in Mönchengladbach, at the runners-up of the 1st Tennis Bundesliga. Things didn't look too bad at first; the score was 2:2 after the singles - the same situation as in the season opener against GW Mannheim. The doubles were to decide the match, but Ilkel / Jianu lost in the match tiebreak with 2:10. The doubles Molcan / Bourgue went to the Gladbach team in two sets (5:7, 2:6) and so the score was 2:4 on Friday evening. On Sunday, we went into the duel against fellow promoted team TC Essen Bredeney. The line-up of our team had not changed from Friday. Cem Ilkel was again convincing in the singles and won (6:3, 7:6 (3)). Unfortunately, this remained the only victory on this match day. Molcan was narrowly defeated in a match tiebreak (7:6, 4:6, 8:10) against Otte. 1:3 after the singles and 1:5 after the doubles was the final result. The away game continues at the weekend.The next home match of BASF Tennisclub e.V. Ludwigshafen will take place on Sunday, 17.07.2022 at 11:00 am in Ludwigshafen against HTC Blau-Weiß Krefeld. We look forward to all sponsors, members and fans supporting our team again.
