Great performance by our athletes at the Special Olympics

Special Olympics, the sports organization for people with intellectual disabilities, celebrated the state games in Mainz for three days. Almost 1000 athletes competed in eleven sports.
Among them were eight from our BASF TC, who were enthusiastic about the atmosphere and the cooperation of all participants.
On the tennis court, our representatives were focused and delivered strong performances. Philipp Scheck and Matthias Mugauer won the gold medal in their performance groups. Lars Delventhal and Fabio Helbig won silver. Bronze went to Christoph Trübenbach and Lias Kelleter.

Timo Schumacher took a good fourth place. There was also silver for Lars and Christoph in the traditional doubles and bronze for Lias and his dad Bernhard in the unified doubles.
