On Sunday, July 31st, the almost 700 visitors were offered high tension until the last minute on the grounds of the BASF Tennisclub e.V.. Kurhaus Lambertz Aachen was the guest.

In the first singles round, Marek Jaloviec (BASF TC) was defeated by Uruguay's Martin Cuevas (3:6, 1:6). Things went better for Tristan Lamasine, who won his hard-fought singles match against Benjamin Hassan from Aachen (7:5, 5:7, 10:8).

In the second round of the singles matches, Duje Ajdukovic (BASF TC), who was in great form and played strongly, gave his opponent Carlos Taberner from Spain no chance and won his match (6:3, 6:2). Mathias Bourgue, who was still in the lead in the first set, was unable to extend BASF TC's interim lead: he was narrowly beaten by his opponent Gianluca Mager (6:7 (7), 4:6). The match went into the doubles with a 2:2 draw.

Things got really exciting again there. The two winners of their singles matches for BASF TC, Duje Ajdukovic and Tristan Lamasine, faced Tim Pütz and Frenchman Hugo Nys on the center court. At the same time, the match between Mathias Bourgue & Vincent Schneider from Ludwigshafen and Benjamin Hassan & Nils Langer started on Court 2. On the center court, Lamasine and Ajdukovic held their own against the doubles experts from Aachen right from the start and won a spectacular first set. Meanwhile, Ludwigshafen's Bourgue and Schneider had to put up with a straightforward 0:6 in the first set. Pütz & Nys then showed all their class in the second set (2:6) and confidently defeated the home side in the decisive match tie-break (3:10). Bourgue & Schneider fought their way back into the match on Court 2 and were able to secure the second set in a tiebreak (7:4), but here too the match tiebreak went to the guests from Aachen, who were thus able to conclude the match day with a narrow 4:2 victory.
