The women's second away matchday in the 2nd Bundesliga (South) also took place in Munich, just like the week before. This time, the ladies were guests at GW Luitpoldpark Munich. New to the team for match days 2 and 3 were: Isabella Shinikova (BUL) with the current WTA ranking 369 at position 1 and Dasha Ivanova (USA) with the WTA ranking 716 at position 2. After the exciting singles, the score was 4:2 in favor of BASF-Tennisclub-Ludwigshafen. The 4 singles were won by Isabella Shinikova 6:2 6:0, Dasha Ivanova 6:7 6:2 14:12 after fending off 2 match points at 7:9 against her in the match tie-break, Selina Dal (GER) 6:2 6:1 and Charlotte Keitel 6:4 6:2. At positions 4 and 6, Livia Kraus (AUT) and Michelle Roth (GER) both lost their singles matches 6:1 6:2. The doubles now brought the final decision, because nothing had been decided yet - Munich could still have won the match day with 3 doubles victories. Selina Dal and Dasha Ivanova lost the first doubles match by a narrow final score of 4-6 6-4 5-10. The second doubles match was also very close, with Isabella Shinikova and Livia Kraus playing together and unfortunately losing 6-7 (4) 6-7 (5). Now it was all down to the third and decisive doubles match to decide who would win the day. The two players Hannah Amling (GER) and Anna-Linn Puls (GER), who were not on court in the singles, were fit and quick on their feet, which gave them a slight advantage over their opponents. This advantage paid off in the end, as they won the decisive doubles match 6:3 3:6 10:6. Thanks to the great results and great performance of our Ladies 1, they are currently in first place in the table of the 2nd Bundesliga South. The following home match days are scheduled this week: on May 18 from 11 a.m. against CaM Nuremberg and on May 20 from 12 p.m. against TC BW Vaihingen-Rohr 1. In addition, the ladies' last home match day will take place on June 2, 2023 from 1 p.m. against TC Leonberg 1.
