Our 1st women's team in the 2nd Bundesliga South had their second home game of the season yesterday. As on the previous match days, the atmosphere in the team was great. Thanks to the strong line-up, a lead after the singles against the opponents from Nuremberg was foreseeable early on and so the home victory was already sealed before the doubles matches after a commanding 6 singles wins. In the first singles round, Selina Dal played at position 4, who won her match after taking a 5:1 lead by giving up her opponent and thus scored the first point for the team. The strong Isabella Shinikova (BUL) played at position 2 and shone with a clear 6:2, 6:2 victory. Anna Linn Puls also played top-class tennis at No. 6, putting her opponent in trouble. Anna Linn also won her singles match 6:2, 6:2. Sinja Kraus at No. 1 and Dasha Ivanova at No. 3 both fought a close battle with their opponents, but both ultimately won after a strong first set in the match tie-break. Sinja put in a top performance in the first set against Denisa Satralova from the Czech Republic, who was also playing strongly, and took a 6:3 lead. The second set went to Nuremberg 4:6 because the Czech now made fewer mistakes, dared to play with more pressure and not everything worked for Sinja. In the match tiebreak, Sinja was wide awake again and played the tennis she had played in the first set. She won the first important points and defeated her opponent 10:5. Dasha's match was similar: she went into the second set with a 6:2 lead, which she lost 5:7. However, Dasha then showed all her experience in the match tie-break and won the equally close match against Alexandra Lutz 10:4. Livia Kraus played at position 5 and won with a clear 6:3, 6:1. The first doubles match was contested by Selina Dal and Isabella Shinikova and won with a quick and clear 6:1, 6:0. In the second doubles match, Livia Kraus and Dasha Ivanova won by giving up their opponents at 1:0. The third doubles match was played by Sarah Müller and Charlotte Keitel. Both harmonized very well together and have often played together in training. Sarah and Charlotte won 6:2, 6:1 and thus ensured a clear 9:0 victory. Sinja Kraus went straight on to Paris after the match day, her aim there is to make it through the qualifying rounds and into the main draw of the French Open. We are keeping our fingers crossed for her. In summary, it was a beautiful and successful Bundesliga match day with the best weather, lots of spectators, great tennis, a great atmosphere and, of course, delicious food from the Clubhaus restaurant. Our ladies are looking forward to tomorrow's match day on 20.05.2023 at 12 noon and to your continued support at the BASF Tennisclub e.V. Ludwigshafen facility.
