Dear members,
On the last weekend in January, some very special doubles matches took place at our facility.
Here is a small impression of the event:
For the sixth time, our facility was dedicated to inclusion for an entire weekend. More than 50 athletes from NRW, Bavaria, Rhineland-Palatinate, Baden and Saarland played doubles in our halls for two days. 28 participants have a mental disability - the partners were either brought along or came from the ranks of our BASF TC. The event organized by Special Olympics Rhineland-Palatinate, in cooperation with our club, was even featured on television by SWR. No winners were determined, the doubles were simply played with a lot of fun and passion. For the most part, unified teams were on the court, i.e. doubles teams consisting of an athlete with a disability and a partner without a disability. Margit Trübenbach and our coach Claus Majolk organized the weekend in a tried-and-tested manner and have already announced the seventh edition for January 2025.
