Successful start to the season for the ladies 1  The double match weekend was a successful start to the season.
Our players were looking forward to the first match day in Ludwigshafen on the initially sunny and first home match day in the 2nd Bundesliga South. Playing against TC Aschheim were: Point 1 Mona Barthel (GER), Point 2 Giulia Gatto-Monticone (ITA), Point 3 Selina Dal (GER), Point 4 Livia Kraus (AUT), Point 5 Charlotte Keitel (GER) and at Point 6 Hannah Amling (GER). With around 200 spectators, the grounds were well attended for a Friday match day and the atmosphere and the mood of the spectators made for a pleasant and high-class day of tennis. At the end of the match day, the score was 6:3. The tension before the first away match was high, but all the players were motivated and confident. Thanks to the strong team line-up, the ladies managed a dominant 8:1 victory against the equally strong club Iphitos Munich. It was already clear after the six singles wins that BASF Tennisclub Ludwigshafen had won the match. Sinja Kraus (AUT) won point one 6:0 6:3, point 2 Mona Barthel (GER) 6:3 6:3, point 3 Giulia, Gatto-Monticone (ITA), point 4 Selina Dal (GER) 6:3 6:1, point 5 Livia Kraus (AUT) 6:2 6:1 and point 6 Anna Linn, Puls (GER) 6:1 7:5. Despite the large lead after the singles, the players remained focused and also played top-class tennis in the subsequent doubles: the first two very exciting matches were won by Mona Barthel and Selina Dal and Livia Kraus and Michelle Roth very narrowly in a match tie-break. The third doubles match went to Iphitos Munich. All in all, it was a very successful weekend and our ladies are already looking forward to the next match day
